K7/5 5 mile TT results 8 April 2015

47 riders took part in this week K7/5 time trial which produced some fabulous rides.

Great to see so many juniors out racing and Hollie Ownes dominated their competition finishing in 11:35 with an average speed of 25.9mph. Keri Parton who set a new ladies course record last year took podium place in the women’s event finishing in 10:52 with an average speed of 27.6mph and Steve Biddulph despite getting slowed by traffic took first place in the men’s event finishing in a time of 9:46 and an average speed of 30.7mph. Alastair Semple was the fastest on the 10 Stafford RC riders who took part and clocked in with a 10:06 (29.7mph). Great to see some new faces too so welcome to the world of time trialing Isabelle, Mark and James.

Thanks also to Wendy Roslow (starter), Martin Tolley (pusher offer), Fran Owen (recorder), Colin Davis (time keeper), Roger Morris (spotter) Paul Taylor (TT sec and organiser), Don Picken results and Chris Hassle (cheer leader).

Stafford RC TT series is now run in conjunction with Walsall RC and our next event is on the K7/5 again on Tuesday 14 April, 6:30 start this time hosted by Walsall RC, see you all then.

Change to Stafford RC K7/50 TT event 29/03/15

Following recent disruption to the K7 course due to road works this weekends #staffordrc time trial event on the 29 March will be held on the K7/21 sporting course instead of the K7/50.  Start time is 9:00 am signing on from 8:30 at first field gate west of M6 bridge.  Please remember the clocks go forward sat night.

Stafford Road Club RTTC Classic Series Review

The first round of the RTTC Classic Series took place today on our Weston hilly 22 mile course with a huge field of 113 riders.  It was great to see the number of paracyclist and women nearly double from previous years with 35 taking part on the day.   We have had some excellent feedback from representatives from the national CTT officials who said our event was exemplary and the marshalling, singposting and organisation was second to none.

2015-03-15 23 Mile TT results

Brilliant turn out again this week on another very chilly and windy day. The north easterly wind held riders speed in check on the first 2 sections of the course out over the reservoir and up to Uttoxeter, but then as riders turned south back to Weston the wind gave them all some much need assistance on the 3 big climbs still too come. As a rule times riders times were down by about 45 seconds on last weeks times but Scott Westwood and Joe Costello (Walsall RC) took 1st and 2nd on the day both finishing with an impressive 52 min ride. 2 Riders did however improve on last weeks times so well done to Susan and Rod on their performance.

Thanks to Don and Phil for timekeeping and pushing off, Paul for organising equipment and sings and Chris in Abbots Bromely directing riders.

Please note the next event the K7/50 on the Sunday 29 March may be effected by road works so an alternative course may be used. Please check the www.staffordrc.org in the week leading up to the event for confirmation.

Good ride today from all in some very chilly and wet conditions.  Walsall riders took the top slots and Joe Costello was just seconds off his course pb and he finished 5th in a sporting 25 mile event less than 24hr before so very well done.  Good ride by Martin Tolley the  fastest SRC rider on actual and to Roger Morris and Phil Hogan who also set new pb times.

The forecast for next weekend is looking much better so hopefully we will see another good turn out of riders.  Thanks to Richard and Alastair for timekeeping, pushing off and assistance from Don, Chris out on the course giving support and Paul for getting the equipment there.
