Stafford Road Club RTTC Classic Series Review
Stafford Road Club RTTC Classic Series Review
The first round of the RTTC Classic Series took place today on our Weston hilly 22 mile course with a huge field of 113 riders. It was great to see the number of paracyclist and women nearly double from previous years with 35 taking part on the day. We have had some excellent feedback from representatives from the national CTT officials who said our event was exemplary and the marshalling, singposting and organisation was second to none.
So I would like to thanks on behalf of Stafford RC all the helpers who gave up their time to ensure the event could take place, so thanks goes to
Our HQ staff, Linda Morris, Sandra Hassle, Marian Coggins
Pushers offers – Martin Tolley and Ade Robinson
Marshals – Dave Parton, Rob Tracey, Phil Peplow, Doug Rouxel, Darren Easton, Mark Allen, Chris Hassle, Steve Houghland, Mark Richards, John Coombs, Andy Prince
Spotter – Steph Clayton
Sign post team – Terry Coggins and Frank Mumford
Car Park staff – Rob Faulkner and Paul Taylor
Camera Man – Melvyn Lewis
Event organiser & assistant – Susan Semple and Christine Bresson
Time Keepers – Don Picken and Gordon Pye
Without their support cycling clubs like ours could not run the events we all enjoy each weekend up and down the country so hats off to you all. You are keeping the British Cycling scene going strong.
Safe cycling

Below are a few of the thanks we have received from riders for all the efforts we put in as a team hosting last Sunday open TT and this link takes you to the TT forum where again riders have been discussing the event, all good stuff http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=98395
Dear Susan
Don’t worry this is not going to give you yet another job to do. I’m writing to say thank you for all your efforts which resulted in such a good event last Sunday. One last job please pass on my thanks to all the rest of the team who made the event possible.
Thanks again
Richard
Hi, I was the handcyclist riding for Dulwich Paragon at the weekend.
Thank you very much for organising the time trial. It was the first CTT event I have participated in and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was using the ride as a bit of a test and will definitely be doing more this season! The course was fantastic and it was very well marshalled. The marshals were great letting us know if it was clear to turn and they were at all necessary points.
I assume it was one of your club to go around the courts circling all the pot holes. Thank you for that!
The whole event was thoroughly enjoyable and I (and i’m sure the others) really appreciate the effort that all the volunteers and organisers put into the event. I have no complaints whatsoever.
Thank you,
Alex
Hi Alastair,
I would like to add my feedback on today’s event. I may be biased but I do not think anyone would be able to criticise any element from today’s event. Sign-on was smooth and efficient, the marshall’s were all excellent and everyone was very polite and helpful. I think today’s event was a fantastic example of how good Stafford Road Club’s organisation is – even the weather was great.
It was the very first open I have ridden, so any future events now have a lot to live up to.
A massive to well done to all involved.
See you soon
Phil.
