Stafford Road Club hosts a number of events each year for its members and cyclists alike. Each of these events take a lot of planning and help from its members and friends to host the events safely each time.
As part of our membership we are all expected to make ourselves available for at least 1 events each year.
To ensure we have enough helpers available at each event we use the table below which is available on the website ( under the Join Us tab across the top) to lists the time, date, number of helpers and a rough attendance period required by the helpers.
Please take a look at the table below to see what dates you can make yourself available for and then email volunteers@staffordrc.org to advise which events you can support and we will update the list. The next big key event is my own on the 20th May where I need at least 10 helpers 😊
Do not worry if you have never helped out before, all the roles are very straight forward and the event organiser will be in touch ahead of the event to confirm your job role and provide any further information.
Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to meeting up with a few of you at one or two of these events

Watt Shop
The Club is delighted to announce an arrangement with Stafford Cricket Club to give SRC a
base for rides to start & finish and for social events.
To mark this you are all invited to an SRC Club road ride on 9th April Easter Sunday
There will be 3 rides:
For those who are new to road cycling or finding your bike legs. This is a no drop ride – which
means we go as slow as the slowest person – no pressure. It’s all about getting out there and
having a go
For those who feel a bit more assured on the roads and want to try out those legs that have
been resting over winter
For those who have been regularly on their turbos or even out on the roads throughout the
winter
All rides will start and finish at the Stafford Cricket Club
Routes will be confirmed nearer the date to take into account weather forecasts
All rides will meet at the same time (approx 9am) with a staggered departure in order of speed
There will be access to the Club bar for drinks after the rides – tea, coffee, soft drinks or
beer/wine.
As a one-off incentive to join in with a club ride, there will be 1 free drink per rider.
Saturday 22nd July – Summer Club Ride followed by a BBQ
Friday 1st Dec – Xmas party for Go Ride
Saturday 2nd Dec – Xmas party for SRC
Other dates and events to be announced in due course
Starting on the 19th October 2022 on a Wednesday evening at 18:30 I will be hosting classes for Stafford Road Club members and any of our cycling friends who may wish to join us.
The training classes will be organised on Zwift (Zwift VR cycling app ) as a group ride where all the riders will stay together and follow the same training schedule based on your own personal levels, so we ride and complete the sessions together as a team.
To make things more sociable we will also use the free Discord phone app so we can use this to talk to each other while riding.
These Zwift group rides we have run this year have proved really successful and the software is very simple to get to grips with. So please let me know if you are interested in taking part by emailing me at ascoaching@outlook.com. You are welcome to join the classes at any point this winter so do not worry if you miss the start on 19th Nov. If you need any more info again please get in touch.
Yes on Tuesday the 19th April Brereton Wheelers are hosting a 5mile TT between Kings Bromley and Alawas.
Then from May onwards we have at least one local TT each week through till September, so something for everyone.

Due to an event taking place at the Tackeroo on Saturday 14th October, coaching will not be going ahead. Instead we another lead/social ride will take place. The ride will start at the Milford Common car park and we will leave at 10am, we will ride through the Chase upto Marquis Drive visitors centre for refreshments at the cafe. Following the cafe stop we will return through the chase to Milford Common which is mainly downhill.
The ride should take between 2 to 2 and a half hours. Riders must be able to complete the ride 10 miles with the cafe stop being after 5 miles. Parents are encouraged to join the ride but a suitable MTB/hybrid bike will be needed for this off-road course.
Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to cancel the Go-Ride rice at the Tackeroo Campsite on Saturday 7th October. We apologise for the late notice of this cancellation and apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.
