Stafford RC winter training programme
Stafford RC Winter training programme
Beginning on Thursday 22 October Stafford RC will run a 21 week training programme for all its members held at the rugby club at 7:30pm.
These events have run now for a couple of years and have been enjoyed by a number of female and male riders. Do not worry if you are not available for the first or all of these training seasons, you are more than welcome to come along as and when it fits in with your other commitments.
The classes will follow a structured programme that will help riders of all abilities build on their current fitness level and build their strength and stamina over the winter in a safe warm environment. This also provides riders with a great opportunity to network and exchange ideas and get advice from the whole group during the evening sessions. The social side of these evenings is as important as the physical.
These classes are designed to complement our weekly club rides and help all of us undertake a measured specific effort which will help us develop our cycling skills and become stronger riders when on club rides/sportives or in competitive events.
So all you need is a bike and some sort of static trainer (ideally turbo trainer or rollers). SRC does have two turbo trainers which are available for hire (£5/month) if you do not have your own and I know there are a few gathering dust in garages so ask about and hopefully you can source one.
I will post more specific details in the next couple of weeks for all those who may be interested.
