Stafford RC K48/10 results 29 April 2015

Great turn out again tonight for #staffordrc 10 mile #timetrial on the K48/10. 40 riders took part and the winner this evening was Steve Turner who finished in a fabulous time of 21:24 just 21 seconds off the course record. Most riders times were down by 20 to 40 seconds on last week due to a strong head wind on the way out.
5 riders managed to improve on their last weeks effort by a few seconds

Susan Semple (Stafford RC) was the fastest women on the night (25:37) and Dave Parton the fastest Stafford RC overall (24:11). Great to see so many other club represented especially RRP and Stafford TRI who were both there in force. Also great see so many riders new to time trials taking part. Hopefully they will continue to come out and ride our weekly events this year and see some great improvements as the weather begins to warm up and they find some ‘form’

Another excellent turn out for this weeks 10 mile TT hosted by #WalsallRC on the K48/10.  It was a bright, cool but still evening which produced some excellent times for many of the 43 riders who took part.  Susan Semple (Stafford RC) and Paul Edwards (Walsall RC) where the fastest riders on the night in their respective categories with the following 13 riders producing PB’s:

Next weeks club TT hosted by #StaffordRC will take place on the K48/10 again and will be the last opportunity for anyone planning on riding the Open TT on this course which forms part of the  West Midland Women’s Series (#wmtts  www.mwtts.org.uk) on Saturday 23 May.   Thanks once again to the Walsall RC officials who hosted the event

Changes to Women’s BAR competitions

The women’s BAR and Short BAR competitions are based on your fastest average speed for a 10, 25 & 50 mile or 5, 10 & 25 mile club event respectively.  Due to the limited number o f 10 mile events the club is hosting and the cancellation of one event due to road works the club committee has now changed the competition runs as follows:

Women’s BAR competition will be based on club member’s fastest average speed for a 9.2, 25 and 50 mile time trial.

Women’s Short BAR competition will be based on a club member’s fastest average speed for a 5, 9.2 and 25 mile time trial.

The change from 10 to 9.2 mile TT events will provide riders with many more opportunities to ride a club TT event of the required distance throughout the season and hopefully encourage a great number of women to participate.

K7/5 5Mile TT results 14th April 2015

60 riders came out to ride last nights 5 mile TT which was hosted this week by Walsall RC.  Despite the warm sunny weather the conditions were not as favourable as last week and riders had a cross wind out and a head wind from the turn to the finish which is reflected in the riders times.

We had just one sub 10 min ride and that was from Walsall RC rider Greg Caley who took podium place on the night.  Emily Upton (Stafford Tri) was the fastest women’s and was also one of the few riders who did a pb, so well done Emily.  Lucas Tillett-Myers (Stafford RC) was the fastest of the 3 juniors who competed and in his first year of racing is a great result.

Congratulation also to the following riders who all produced person best times last night, their training is obviously working for them : )

Changes to the K7/5 TT course finish

Last night we received complaints from the owner of Moat House farm where the finish area of the K7/5 course is located.  So to ensure we do not lose the support of our local neighbours and possibly jeopardise the future use of the course can I ask that no motor vehicles are parked on the side of the road where the entrance to the farm is.  If you wish to park your vehicles near the finish do so in the opposite side of the road but not directly opposite the finish.

From now on time keepers will stand opposite the finish area and riders and spectators can gather on the opposite grass verge keeping the entrance to the Moat House farm clear at all times.

Thank you in advance for your support with the above and hopefully we can build better relations with our neighbours and promote safe cycling events on all our courses for many years to come.
