This is where we highlight the races that our riders are competing in and celebrate their success and achievements. It doesn’t matter where the riders finish the race (it is always nice to be on the podium though), as long as they have had fun and given it their all. All the coaches, past and present, are extremely proud of the way our riders race, their attitudes whilst representing the club and their commitment to do the best they can.

Go-Ride Racing 2020

For 2020 there is a six race programme of races in the Go-Ride Racing Series.

Riders will be able to compete in at least three races per event. Races will be in groups of similar age and size.

All races are at Tackeroo, Cannock Chase.These events are suitable for novice racers under the age of 16 only, i.e. do not hold a BC racing licence and do not compete regularly in organised racing events. Experienced riders attending will not be eligible for awards and prizes. On the day entry only, no pre-entries.

Each Race Sign-on opens at 9:45am and closes at 10:15am, no riders will be permitted to sign-on after this time. The first race will start at 10:30am. Event cost is £4 per rider. Please park in the car park opposite the entrance to Tackeroo event site.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions in place, all our planned races for 2020 have had to be cancelled

Equipment Required

Bike – bring your own mountain bike, hybrid, BMX or leisure bike.

Safety helmet – helmets must be worn to race and should be in good condition with the appropriate CE standards stickers attached.

Gloves – it is always preferable to wear gloves when racing.

Clothing – needs to be appropriate for the weather conditions and a physical activity. Warm clothing should be available for breaks between races. Ensure that clothing is not loose enough to entangle with the bike.

Clothing, helmet and bikes will be checked before the racing starts.

All six races are held at Tackeroo on Cannock Chase, just a few minutes drive out of Stafford and is easiest accessed from the A34. Turn left at the roundabout at Pottal Pool, just before reaching Huntington. Travel about 2 miles on Penkridge Bank, past Rifle Range Corner to the Tackeroo car park on the left about 500 metres further along the road. Penkridge Bank Rd, Rugeley WS15 2UA

PLEASE NOTE – there is running water at Tackeroo, but no toilet facilities or changing rooms.

Parking –  in the car park (opposite the entrance to the Tackeroo site)

Racing sign in – 9:45 am to 10:15 a.m.

Racing Starts – 10:30 a.m.

Entry fee – £4.00 per rider

Entry details – Turn up and enter on the day.
