(10/12/07) 9 brave faces turned out to ride the Stafford Tri 10 mile TT on Saturday in some appalling conditions.  With most folks turning out on their winter bikes plus the wind, times were down by about 3 mins.  Dave DG riding for Mammoth put in the best time on the day winning both the scratch and handicap. You can see a full list of Results via their forum.

(3/12/07) The next SRC club meeting will take place on Thursday 13 December at the Rugby Club.  Please come alone to pick up your new club water bottles and join in the meeting.  Due to unforeseen circumstances the meetings will take place from January 4th onwards on the first Thursday of each month.

(28/11/07) Chase Race is an organisation running various Dualthlon and Sprint events on Cannock Chase.  Their next planned event is in jeopardy though as only 50 entrants have registered and they need a minimum of 60 for the event to take lace.  So if you are intending on participating please contact them straight away as we do not want to see this event cancelled Web

HERE ARE THE LATEST UPDATES

(22/12/07) For anyone who wishes to stretch their legs on Christmas day and work up a healthy appetite a few of use will be meeting up at the windmill for 9.00am on Christmas day and do a gentle ride up to Stone, Eccleshall and then back to Stafford for 11.00am.  Hope you can join us but if not have a very Marry Christmas and we will see you all on the New Years Day TT.

(22/12/07) I am very please to announce that Charlie Betteley has been nominated for Stafford Borough Councils Sport Personality of the Year award in recognition of the extensive array of both World, National, Regional and club trophies he has won over the years.  The award ceremony takes place on Fri 22 Feb and I am about to book some tickets (£4/head with buffet) for us to go along and offer Charlie all the support he deserves and see him hopefully take another cycling trophy! If you would like me to book you a ticket please drop me an email ASAP as I need to send through details by the 7 January.

(20/12/07) Henry Burton Cycles is about to place an order in the New Year for Stafford Road Club short sleeved skin suits.  The skin suits will carry the clubs sponsored design and provide us all who are intending to ride TT's and the track next year with the a little bit more speed!  The skin suits will be available to you for £40 each, subject to any slight variation in exchange rates.  John Burton is going to bring along a selection of sizes to the next club meeting on the 3 January so we can try them on and make sure that you know what size to order. So please please pop along to the meeting and take a look.  These samples will only be available to try on in the first week on January so please make sure you get yourself along to the meeting or you will be hard pushed to keep up with the rest of us in our super fast kit : )

(19/12/07) Do not forget the New Years Day 5 mile TT that takes place each year at Pottal Poole roundabout and follows the course to Brocton and then down towards Penkridge.  Start time is for 10am and there is usually a bit of a gathering after the event at someones house where we can all enjoy a little more of the Christmas 'spirit' and one last mince pie!  So what better way to see in the New Year than coming out to ride or watch this 'more relaxed TT' where competitors are usually adorned in Christmas decorations rather than skin suits.

(13/12/07)  Dates for your Diaries.  SCCA have just let me know about there New Years day 10.  This take place over near Cuddrington.  So if you wake up New Years day in Shropshire and are unable to make it back in time to join in SRC 5 mile TT then perhaps you would like to join SCCA. Both events start for 10am

(13/12/07)  MAG is a UK based landmine charity looking for cyclists to sign up to our bike ride through 3 Capitals in 3 Days from 6-9 June 2008.
